Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what data FindMeABot collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
When you log in with Discord we collect: your Discord user ID, username, global display name, avatar hash, and email address. We also store a list of bot IDs you have submitted to the platform. We do not store your Discord password or payment information.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to: authenticate your identity via Discord OAuth2; display your username and avatar on the platform; attribute bot listings to your account; send moderation notifications via Discord webhook; detect abuse and enforce our Terms of Service.
3. Discord OAuth and Scopes
We request the following Discord OAuth2 scopes: "identify" (username & avatar), "email" (your Discord email), "guilds" (to verify server membership), and "guilds.join" (to add you to our official Discord server). We do not request any write permissions to your servers.
4. Data Storage and Security
Your data is stored in a MongoDB Atlas database hosted in a secure cloud environment. Sessions are stored server-side and identified by a cryptographically random token. We use HTTPS for all data in transit. We implement reasonable technical safeguards but cannot guarantee absolute security.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us through our Discord server. Bot listing data may be retained in anonymised form for analytical purposes.
6. Sharing of Information
We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share data with service providers (e.g., MongoDB Atlas, Vercel) that help us operate the platform. We may disclose information when required by law or to protect the safety of our users.
7. Cookies
We use a single HTTP-only session cookie ("session_token") to keep you logged in. This cookie is essential for the Service to function. We do not use advertising, tracking, or analytics cookies.
8. Children's Privacy
FindMeABot is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
9. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, please contact us via our Discord support server. We will respond within 30 days.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes via our Discord server. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
